The information has always existed.

It lived in the group chat. In the conversation after the interview. In the warning a mentor gave you over coffee. Black professionals have always known things about workplaces that never made it onto Glassdoor.

We built the place where that knowledge finally lives out loud.

For too long, Black professionals have had to navigate corporate America with incomplete information. We relied on whisper networks, gut feelings, and the advice of whoever we were lucky enough to know. We took jobs at companies that looked diverse on the surface and discovered the truth six months in. Only to find the culture didn't match the brochure. The opportunities weren't as equal as the handbook suggested. And the support we were promised had a way of disappearing right when we needed it most.

We deserved better information. We just didn't have it.

The Black Experience Index exists to change that.

BEI is a platform built by and for Black professionals — a place where real experiences become collective intelligence. Where the things we've always said in private finally live somewhere public. Where the next person considering an offer, weighing a career move, or simply trying to understand if they'll belong somewhere can find the honest answer.

No names. No corporate spin. Just truth.

Success shouldn't depend on who you know or how well you can read a room. It should depend on your talent, your drive, and your willingness to show up. BEI exists to level that playing field — one honest review at a time.

We measure what actually matters: whether Black voices are represented in leadership, whether the environment feels psychologically safe, whether pay is equitable, whether growth is real, whether allyship shows up when things get hard, and whether the organization responds with integrity when racial issues arise.

Because belonging isn't a perk. It's a baseline. And everyone deserves to know whether they'll find it before they walk through the door.
